IT strategy consulting for small UK teams

Small business IT planning without the theatre

Loomfield IT Advisory helps owners choose, organise, and govern the software their teams already depend on. Practical IT strategy consulting, plain software setup guidance, and no grand transformation speeches.

Sometimes the answer is not a new platform. Sometimes it is a better decision log, cleaner ownership, and one fewer monthly bill.

Services

Clear IT decisions for teams without a full-time IT director

We help small businesses plan the technology layer they already rely on, then document the next steps in language people can use.

01

IT Strategy Consulting

We turn scattered tool choices into a practical roadmap: ownership, risk, costs, permissions, renewal dates, and the next decision that actually matters.

02

Software Setup Guidance

Before a team commits to a new system, we map roles, data, approvals, reporting, and handover steps so the setup fits the business instead of the other way round.

03

Small Business IT Planning

Quarterly plans keep founders and managers out of tool chaos. Not glamorous. Useful, though, especially when the team doubles faster than the process does.

04

Decision Support

We compare categories, prepare shortlists, review supplier promises, and write the plain-English notes your staff can follow six months later.

“Loomfield stopped us buying another system and helped us fix the ones we already had. Annoyingly sensible.”

Hannah Pritchard, Operations Director, Ashwell Studio Group

Planning Method

From tool sprawl to a working IT plan

The work starts with what already exists: accounts, spreadsheets, shared drives, support habits, security gaps, and the awkward workarounds people quietly rely on. Then we turn that into a 90-day IT plan small enough to finish.

  • Step 1: map current software, costs, access, and owners.
  • Step 2: mark the business risks nobody has written down.
  • Step 3: choose what to keep, tidy, replace, or defer.
  • Step 4: write a 90-day plan the team can actually finish.

Client Notes

What owners say after planning properly

“The software setup guidance was sharper than any vendor demo. They asked who would own the data on week four. We had not thought that far.”

Samir Clarke, Founder, Northbridge Payroll Services

“Our small business IT planning used to be panic buying. Now we have a roadmap, a renewal calendar, and fewer arguments.”

Eleanor Shaw, Practice Manager, Meadow Lane Clinics

“They were clear about what they do not do. No managed helpdesk, no pretending to be everything. That honesty helped.”

Marcus Ellison, Director, Brackley Field Surveys

FAQ

Questions before booking

Do you manage daily IT support tickets?

No. Loomfield is an advisory firm, not a helpdesk. We help you plan, choose, organise, and govern IT decisions; day-to-day support can remain with your current provider.

What counts as software setup guidance?

We help define roles, permissions, data structure, reporting, supplier questions, and handover steps before a system goes live. The practical bits, basically.

Is this only for very small firms?

Most clients have 8 to 75 staff. The work fits any business where tool decisions are now too important to leave to guesswork.

Do you recommend specific products?

We can prepare shortlists by category, but we do not take supplier kickbacks and we avoid pretending one tool suits everyone.

What happens after I request a call?

We reply with a short scoping note and suggest a time to discuss your current tools, risks, and planning goals.
